Welcome!

Wayne Ngai

President
waynen@wharton.upenn.edu

Born and raised in the chaotic kitchens of my parent’s Chinese restaurant, I mastered the art of frying egg rolls at age 8 while simultaneously perfecting my people skills waiting tables (yay for tips!). Outside of the sweatshop, I enjoy chilling with friends, watching Chinese wuxia dramas, doing anything sports related, and scheming about potential entrepreneurial pursuits. Here at Penn, CSA is both my passion and my family, and I encourage everyone to come out to our events and be a part of our family.

Jenny

Jenny Jiang

Vice President
jyjiang@wharton.upenn.edu

Hi CSA members! I'm in Wharton's class of 2011 and hail from Canada and Jacksonville, FL. I am currently concentrating in Marketing with minors in Chinese and Classical Studies. I am also currently the Vice President of External Committees of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. I have participated as a model in 2008's APAWH ft. UMC Fashion Show, and was on the ECAASU 2010 Bid Team as the Finance Chair and gave the bid presentation. My other interests include cooking lots of food, the Food Network, classical studies, and exploring Philadelphia!

Justin Yuan

Vice President
yyuanj@wharton.upenn.edu

I'm Justin, one of the VPs of the Chinese Students' Association at Penn. I'm a junior in Wharton, studying finance and management. I was born in Taiyuan, China, but I now live in New York.  I've been part of the CSA family since freshman year, and it’s been a hell of a ride since. Previously, I also served as the Political Chair of CSA. Outside of school, you can often find me blasting trance music while reading Horatio Alger novels or cooking at 4AM.

Kasey Ma

Treasurer
jingyi@sas.upenn.edu

Hello! It's Kasey here—I work with your dues to make cool things happen!  I'm an Econ Major who loves money, fancy eats, Kpop, and drawing with my Intuos tablet until sunrise on random nights.  When not running around with CSA (chasing after the Benjamins, you know), I get even more APA loving from my sisters in Sigma Psi Zeta and the rest of my ECAASU 2010 Conference Team!  I also like helping our campus and community in various ways through my participation in the Residential Advisory Board, SPEC Concerts, and the West Philly Tutoring Project.

Jen

Jen Kwok

Secretary
jenkwok@wharton.upenn.edu

Hey there! I’m Jen, and I’m the Secretary of the Chinese Students’ Association. Born and raised in New Jersey (the greatest state in the Union), I am a sophomore in Wharton, concentrating in Finance, and minoring in Music through the College. Music is the first love of my life, whether I am performing, listening or discovering it. My interests include tennis, Chinese tea, dark chocolate, and fine dining. I also enjoy cooking Chinese food, watching films, shopping with my mom, Sporcle, and making lists. My three favorite places in the world are New Jersey, New York City, and Hong Kong in that order. I also pronounce “water” funny.

Alphonse

Alphonse Tam

Social
altam@sas.upenn.edu

Alphonse is South Philadelphia born and raised, on the playground is where he spent most of his days, chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool, doing some homework outside of Catholic school… He enjoys reading Nick Hornby and David Sedaris, long jogs by the river, dining out, scary movies, BBQs on the beach, house parties, hanging out with friends, outdoor concerts and an all around good time. As Co-Social Chair of CSA, he puts his heart and soul into throwing the most outrageous off campus parties and multicultural mixers. He hopes to keep CSA tradition alive by making the social events amazing, fun and unforgettable. He is currently an International Relations major with a minor in Urban Studies and (expectantly) in American Public Policy, and wants a career in social think tanks/public administration/international law one day.

Hey y’all! I’m a sophomore currently studying bioengineering. I want to give a big shout-out to the state of Arkansas, where I was born and raised. GO HOGS!!! You can always find me listening to music or eating (usually both). When I’m not slaving away for CSA, I’m probably sleeping, shopping, running, laughing, or procrastinating.

Hi everyone! I'm Terry and hail from the concrete jungle of New York City. I'm a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences and a candidate for a double major in Health and Societies and Communications. I like sleeping in my comfy bed, jogging to mad gangsta rap, and hanging out with family and friends! Oh, and chillin' with CSA of course! I hope to see you at our events and don't forget to join the cultural show! It'll change your life!

Community Service
geoffliu@wharton.upenn.edu

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the beautiful city of Vancouver, Geoff is currently at his second year at Wharton. He joined the CSA ranks first semester of his freshman year and has absolutely loved the experience of working with such a passionate and friendly group. In addition to hanging out with his CSA family, in his spare time he loves going karaoke and watching the highlights of his favorite Manchester United team. Since high school, community service has always been an important part of Geoff's life and he looks forward to doing more for the benefit of the world!

Shout out from Cleveland! I love staying active, meditating, city skylines, and heart-to-hearts. You can often find me running along the Schuylkill or under a statue at the last boat house contemplating. I’m also a pro at foosball so if anyone’s ready to lose, step onto the field at my house. As the new addition to the Community Service Chairs, I’m ready to bring something special…so be ready to volunteer for great causes!

Jonathan Leung

Community Service
jonleung.csa@gmail.com

Someone once asked me, “What is the essence of Jonathan Leung?” I really thought about it and came to the conclusion that in whatever I do, I try to throw as much creativity into it as I can. Essentially, screw the status quo! I love composing music (“The ostinato can change from being in 5, to 8, to 6, and then back to 8!”), playing found objects (Klean Kanteen + Water = Awesome variable pitched musical instrument), cooking (“What if we add strawberries and mustard!” (which by the way works really well with beef)), making robots (“Our robot should totally have 3 wheels!”), spreading the XKCD cult (“let’s tape them everywhere!”), and impulsively exploring (“I wonder what’s behind that door… roof!”).

Ben

Ben Wang

Special Events
benw@wharton.upenn.edu

Sup! This is Ben, one of your two Special Events Chairs. Born in Beijing, China, I was raised all over the place, ranging from Beijing, to Canada, to California. I'm an external transfer into Wharton after spending my freshman year at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Basketball is probably my biggest hobby/passion by far, but I also love just chilling, so if you're into either, come and hunt me down!

Jenny

Jenny Ma

Special Events
jennyma@sas.upenn.edu

Hi! My name is Jenny and I’m a sophomore in the college studying Biochemistry! I’m from Morgantown, WV but I have lived in China, New Jersey, and California before I moved to WV. I love electrons, Asian food, and making cards and I watch way too many TV shows during my free time. Nonetheless, you can usually find me running around to my different classes in the day and studying intensely for my next exam in the night all the while trying to balance my various activities.

Sining

Sining Zhou

Political Char
szh@sas.upenn.edu

O Hai! I’m Sining, your current Political Chair to the greater Penn community—repping CSA all the way. Hollas. I’m currently a pre-med, consulting wannabe hybrid in the College who loves to eat, sleep, watch dramas, and Photoshop. I can be spotted wearing grungy clothes, munching on food, at APSC & UMC meetings, hanging with the sisters of Sigma Psi Zeta, kicking it with PennYo, sleeping in PAACH, and of course, loving the CSA family!

Shannon

Shannon Aquino

Web/Design Chair
saquino@wharton.upenn.edu

As the caption above implies, my name is Shannon. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and lived there my entire life. To the East Coast I bring with me strange pronunciations of certain words (pop vs. soda), a can-do midwestern attitude, and bad allergies. Prior to coming here to Penn, I was an architecture major at Cornell University. After transferring, I'm currently in Wharton's Class of 2012 and concentrating in finance and real estate. On top of that, I'm an avid photographer, and I cringe inside whenever I see people take awful photos. Just kidding!

Lin

Lin Yuan

CSA Associate
yuanlin@sas.upenn.edu

Hey everyone! My name’s Lin and I’m a freshman in the College! I love cooking, baking, the Food Network, and Chipotle (chicken fajita burrito bowl with a tortilla on the side is the only way to go!) I especially enjoy baking cupcakes with my twin sister and we aspire to open our own bakery one day. I also love making dumplings with my mom, playing volleyball, and just chilling with my friends. I’m so psyched to join the CSA family!

Madeline

Madeline Song

CSA Associate
songp@wharton.upenn.edu

Hi, I'm Madeline. I was born in Harbin, China and grew up in Edison, NJ. I am currently a freshman in Wharton with an undecided concentration. I am a total TV show/dramas/movies addict. I love eating, shopping, and sleeping. My guilty pleasures are splurging on art supplies and drooling over food pictures.

Zihao

Zihao Xia

CSA Associate
zxia90@gmail.com

Hey! My name is Zihao (that’s pronounced zuh-how) and I’m probably one of the few people you will ever meet from Oklahoma. I’m a freshman in the College and Wharton studying Biochemistry and most likely Finance. I joined CSA board because I had an awesome time working with some of the members on the cultural show in the fall (come check it out!) and I’m looking forward to helping out with all the other events we plan on offering as a CSA Associate. As for my interests…just ask me!
